My Story

Community Voices is the culmination of fifteen years spent helping organizations better understand and serve the people who depend on them.

I began my career as a public health educator, teaching human growth and development, substance use prevention, and social-emotional learning to K-8 students throughout the Chicagoland area. As rewarding as that work was, I found myself asking a bigger question: How could I expand my impact and help more people?

That question led me through a variety of roles in nonprofits, school districts, trade associations, workforce development organizations, and community-serving institutions. No matter the setting, a common thread emerged: meaningful solutions begin with understanding people. Whether through strategic planning initiatives, board-directed engagement efforts, or everyday conversations with program participants, I learned that the most effective decisions are grounded in listening.

In 2020, I earned a master's degree in Organization Development and Change, deepening my understanding of how people, groups, and organizations navigate change. The experience reinforced what I had observed throughout my career: before organizations can solve problems, improve services, or plan for the future, they must first understand the experiences, needs, and perspectives of the communities they serve.

That belief became the foundation for Community Voices. I believe the most valuable insights come from creating spaces where people feel comfortable sharing their experiences honestly and openly. My role is not simply to collect feedback. It is to build trust, ask thoughtful questions, identify meaningful themes, and translate community perspectives into actionable insights for you.

I also understand the realities many public agencies, nonprofits, and human-service organizations face. I’ve been there. Time is limited. Resources are stretched. Community engagement often competes with countless other priorities. That's where I can help. Community Voices exists to make listening intentional, meaningful, and practical, giving leaders like you the information you need to make decisions with confidence and with support.
